Restorative dental work is important for both the health and beauty of your teeth.
Yorkshire Dentistry is a full-service restorative dental practice. We can take care of all your specialized dental needs, from crowns to tooth replacements.
We provide the highest quality treatments and technologies to help you achieve optimum dental health—quickly, safely and with as little discomfort as possible. Our caring, friendly staff strives to make every visitor as comfortable as possible.
When teeth are badly broken, extensively decayed or simply in need of existing cap replacements, crowns are the treatment of choice. A crown is a “cap” which is placed over an existing tooth or implant. Crowns can be made of a variety of materials—including porcelain, gold and zirconium.
Bonded to your tooth, porcelain crowns match the color and translucency of your natural teeth. And because they’re metal-free, there are no “black” lines around the crown. Most people can’t tell the difference between the crown and your real teeth.
A bridge is a prosthetic tooth (or teeth) that attaches to neighboring teeth, which have been prepared with dental crowns. The style of bridge we suggest will depend upon the strength and health of the neighboring teeth, as well as the location of the gap.
Dentures and Partial Dentures
Dentures are another common and less expensive way to replace missing teeth. We’ll make sure they’re comfortable, functional and attractive.
Dental Implant Restoration
Unlike full or partial dentures, dental implants are permanently fixed in the mouth. After the implant has healed, we can replace the missing tooth with a crown over the implant. If you are interested in having dental implants placed, our team partners with a periodontist in the Hampton Roads area.
If you are experiencing chronic headaches due to night-time teeth clenching and grinding, a tension-suppressing night guard may be the solution. A night guards is a small, transparent device worn over your two front teeth while you sleep to prevent contact between canines and molars.
Composite Restorations / Tooth-Colored Fillings
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The damaged part of the tooth is removed and a composite filling is bonded to the tooth. Composites are more attractive and durable than the amalgam, gold and silver fillings that were used in the past.
